Debuts:
First official, we have a song by Conan Gray, which is also the second single off his album Wishbone. Bestie, I've been listening to Conan since Hits 1 picked up Maniac, but I haven't become a fan until I got into sombr and ROLE MODEL. Now I love all of his new music, and Vodka Cranberry doesn't disappoint. In fact, this might be his best song far. The production is amazing, and Cone sounds great as always.
Unfortunately, the worst debut of the week follows. The Kid LAROI is back with HOT GIRL PROBLEMS. I have to agree with Ethan when he called him The Mid LAROI. This song is suuuuuper forgettable, but even more repetitive, saying SHE GOT HOT GIRL PROBLEMS waaay too many times. The only good this about this song is the instrumental, but that is overtaken by his yelling. Still prefer this than SLOW IT DOWN.
On the other hand, KATSEYE make their second countdown appearance with Gabriela. The only complaint I have with this is Hits 1 should've picked this up way sooner. This song is very unique, especially with that Spanish bridge. I'd take this over Gameboy any day, and surprisingly Touch, which was a gold song at one point. I do wish they would've picked up Gnarly, but it might never happen due to the lyrics (making beats for a boring dump b!+ch fu(k!ng gnarly)
Out of all the weeks, this one was the worst to put back Just Keep Watching for two reasons. 1, Tate and Laroi broke up, 2 this song is NOWHERE in airplay. Hits 1 is cheap af for doing this, and should really be picking up Eternity or Illegal. If this rots in the bottom five for 8 weeks, WHAT IS THE POINT OF BRINGING THIS BACK-
Last but not least, Miss Chappell Roan returns after the song everyone thought was gonna be number one for six weeks, but didn’t, AKA The Giver, with The Subway. wOw. This songs got a lot to take in. First off, I’ve NEVER heard a song on the countdown with a whole bunch of high notes that’s not from a musical. Chappell sounds incredible here, and the instrumental sounds like a sad scene from a 2000s teen movie, but I love Y2K and I like this song. Hoping this is number one for 6 weeks (I know my music taste sucks part 1)
Ranking of Debuts:
1. Conan Gray - Vodka Cranberry
2. KATSEYE - Gabriela
3. Chappell Roan - The Subway
4. Tate McRae - Just Keep Watching
5. The Kid LAROI - HOT GIRL PROBLEMS

This week, we lost Easy Lover, Messy, Azizam, Betty, and FINALLY Priceless
Easy Lover was good at first, but not as hype as EOTW or WOF. As it went on, it got pretty annoying, so I’m glad it left before I made it orange.
Despite it being around for a little while, I truly think that Messy deserved much better. It was overall a great song, and Rosè’s best solo work. This song will be missed.
Hooray, no more Mid Sheeran! Despite Azizam having the best run of the bunch, it was my least favorite Ed Sheeran song. This song was overplayed way too much, looped multiple parts at this same time. I just didn’t get the hype with this song. Hopefully Hits 1 saved room for Sapphire.
I talked about Messy being underrated, but this song was robbed. Betty by AJR was an incredible tune. It was both something I wanted to cry to and dance to at the same time. Ever since World’s Smallest Violin, I’ve been liking AJR’s music a lot, and this one is in my top three favorites. Maybe this can pull a just keep watching in a few weeks? Betty deserves justice (No Tame Impala included)
HOORAY NO MORE MAROON 500 WEEKS! Listen hunnies, I. Cannot. Stand. Maroon. 5. I feel like all their songs sound the same, and I can’t stand Adam Levine’s voice. But I thought we were really going places since Beautiful Mistakes, but LOST AND MIDDLE GROUND WERE SOOO ROBBED ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY. So when I heard LISA was collabing with them, I got happy since I am a fan of BP. The truth? She didn’t make the song any better. This song has the most emotionless rapping I’ve ever heard. Like it’s that bad.
———————————————————————Nice To Each Other has finally moved position. Based on the strong airplay and slow movement, I fear that we’re nearing NOKIA part 2.
I’m actually surprised that Folded stayed another week, normally random abyss songs are a 1 Week Wonder.
Listen hunnies, I know my music taste sucks, but I like Blue Strips. Let’s get this song into the top 15. (I know my music taste sucks part 2)
If Nice To Each Other was NOKIA Part 2, then back to friends has to be Sailor Song part two. Getting tons of airplay, getting on the countdown, airplay slows down, gets random 20+ jump, then dips. Such a shame since this is a really good song.
On the other hand, Golden got a 9+ and is now in the top 15. Keep this up!
Umm…why is cliché in the top 10??? This was fun at first, now it’s confusing.
Hits 1 really didn’t need to make Ordinary suffer like that, that song was our savior.
Undressed if FINALLY in the top five! Guys, this needs to hit number one.
Now to talk about what most are calling a disappointment. There are two people in this community: The ones that hate Sabrina, and the ones that love Sabrina. I’m the kind of person who hears her music, thinks it’s good, but then gets tired of it. Or those rare instances where I like it throughout like Taste, Please Please, Please, and Feather. Manchild is actually a pretty good song, but I do think the doesn’t deserve to be number one. This unfortunately proves that Sabrina is highly overrated, and shouldn’t have her whole album take up the countdown. Hoping undressed will overtake this next week, but this is a once in a blue moon.
That’s all for now, thanks for reading my first countdown review! See you soon for the Pulse and Mega Big Hitbound/Abyss review!
